Chronic Pain

Our chronic pain management counseling is for the treatment of chronic pain associated with chronic illness or injury, including those occurring from arthritis, accidents, sports injuries, cancer, or multiple sclerosis.

We provide evidence-based treatment via psychological methods including mind body therapies, cognitive methods, and reprocessing methods designed to improve coping.

Cognitive methods are used to update thought processes associated with pain, in part by changing perceptions of pain while increasing adaptive responses. Pain can be improved by directly treating high levels of physiological stress known to aggravate pain.

We provide consultation with prescribing physicians to either enhance the benefits of traditional drug therapies or reduce the need for pharmaceutical interventions. This can lower the risk of prescription dependence or abuse while empowering clients with options and additional resources for coping with chronic pain.
